A lease has been signed with a tenant for the retail space on Cumberland – The Rocks Grocer. This store will provide fresh produce, groceries, snack items and internet access and is scheduled to open at the same time as the YHA.

The structure for The Big Dig Archaeology Education Centre is complete. Throughout the site, work is progressing on the internal partitions, external cladding, service layout and roofing. Installation of the bridge connecting the two hostel buildings will commence in the near future.

A milestone has been reached with the smaller crane removed from the site on Monday 23rd February. YHA and Built would like to thank local residents and businesses for their co-operation throughout this operation.

Work is steadily progressing with the structure of the south building complete and the north building nearing completion. Installation of flooring, internal partitions and services continues. Roofing work will commence in the near future.
The footings for the Big Dig Archaeology Education Centre are complete and the installation of the structural steel for this building will commence in the near future.

Installation of the structural framework for Sydney harbour YHA is nearing completion. Flooring, internal partitions, wiring and plumbing are commencing with roofing to start in February. Work will soon commence on the Big Dig Archaeology Education Centre.

The model for Sydney Harbour YHA and The Big Dig Archaeology Education Centre is currently on display in the Sydney Visitor Centre in The Rocks.

Site establishment is almost complete. Construction has commenced with pre-cast footings to support the building being installed, structural steel arriving on site and the concrete and block work for the rainwater tanks in place.

Two cranes have been installed on the site. Whilst these cranes tower above neighbouring buildings, the completed YHA will be a low-rise development with a maximum height of between four to five storeys (including the plant rooms).
